FTA FIRE panels are designed to protect vehicular and aviation fuel cells from the deflagration, which occurs when cells are struck by ballistic projectiles or direct impact.

These FIRE Panels offer a signifcant weight savings over armor, allowing for more armor to be utilized in crew protection without sacrificing fuel tank protection.
